Wedding or 21st Birthday Party

Swan ice sculpture

Marquee & pool party?

Last Sunday night (18th March), while I was getting smashed with the tourists in the city, Ball Breaker attended the wedding of the year in Templestowe. BBs tried to convince me to go as her partner, but there was no chance I was gonna show up to Trash's wedding, even if I had've been invited. The wedding was set in 501's family home. A marquee was erected on the tennis courts and all around the pool. A huge ice carving of an animal of some sort (a swan perhaps?) was on display. Ball Breaker's account of the evening was hilarious. The wedding was more like a big 21st birthday party. Dinner was served buffet style with people having to line up for their food. Not your typical sit down 8 course wedding dinner. The food, I heard was magnificent though. But the whole set up was a disaster. Most of the dishes were prepared by 501's family. So, they cooked their own food for the wedding. There was even a pancake stall tossing pancakes for dessert. Sounds like one big Moomba festival. Only thing missing was the roller coaster and jumping castle. The bride only had 3 to 4 tables of her own guests which included both her family and her friends. Poor thing had no friends. Atleast DH flew in all the way from Singapore for this event. What a true friend.

Front view of the dress - gorgeous

Side view of the dress - err... what's that sticking out?

Ball Breaker and The Teacher were my paparazzi crew at the wedding, snapping photos from every angle of the place, the people, the dress and the food. But I still havent seen these photos!!! According to one, the dress was straight out of a Footscray Vietnamese boutique. Surely with so much money, she could've gotten a dress from Marianna Hardwick or a designer couture wedding gown. Having said that, the dress was probably a designer couture gown but it just wasnt flattering to her body. Ball Breaker was absolutely right, money does not buy you style or class. The bride and groom had one or two dances to start the party off and Ball Breaker said they retreated to their room and never came back out for the rest of the night. WTF?

Gorgeous in a red cheongsam....

My paparazzi crew took this opportunity to get smashed as usual, seeing that the bubbly of choice for the night was Bollinger and Moet. Not bad. Ball Breaker was sms-ing and calling me all night to make me drive all the way to Templestowe to witness this "wedding". People were coming and going all night. Even Roulette and her boyfriend crashed the wedding and they weren't invited!

BBs account of the whole event was slightly different to Ball Breaker's. BBs thought the wedding was a fairly well thought out event. Different to your average Chinese wedding reception, but nevertheless it was good. She did say the food was really good, not much comment about the buffet style serving. I guess BBs is just more diplomatic. After all, she did get along well with Trash despite the history they both shared. BBs, you're too kind, even though you did complain that you spent all night smiling at strangers who were wondering who the hell you were!

  1. I never said it was well thought out. I said it was a good effort for last minute planning.=p The food made up for the fact that we had to line-up but what can you expect cos it's a tennis court. there was no space for waiters to come serve you food. Seriously, I have nothing against T and the reason I went was to show support of her special day. and yes, i am definitely more diplomatic..haha..truth is, i don't feel the way you and ballbreaker do so I guess it's not hard to be 'nice'. hehe...u are mean mean machine...
