The Busiest Week Of My Life I

The whole week, I've been totally out of control. Eating, drinking and smoking excessively. Here's the summary of my roller coaster ride.

Monday
I was good - stayed home. Did nothing, watched Desperate Housewives. Was recovering from the big roller coaster of a weekend. So many NBFs, so little time....

Tuesday
Met up with Siew Yum, BBs, Plastic, Ball Breaker, Mr S, Swing Sister, Kam, Odie, Ribena, SJ, etc. for after work drinks at 3 Degrees. Plastic and the girlfriend left early to catch Miss Saigon. I want to go see that too! The rest of us moved on to dinner at Via Veneto on Lygon St. The prawn linguine has never tasted better. Ball Breaker and I came up with the fabulous idea of having my birthday dinner at Watermark to save people the trouble of moving from one place to another after dinner since Lavish is in Watermark. This way, everyone can drink during dinner and not worry about driving to Lavish. Rang Cutey to get her to organise my birthday dinner, but must have gotten her at a bad time. She was high on something and had no idea what I was talking about. So Kam said he would organise the booking.

After dinner, everyone left the restaurant to head home leaving me, Ball Breaker, Ribena, Princess Model and Kam. JT had wanted to stay with us. I could tell. But she was torn between Mama J and err.... well, u know who. Ribena and Kam were downing shooters at the bar like there was no tomorrow. They tried every Sambuca the bar had to offer and at one point I joined them for a white Sambuca shot. Later on back at the table, we got onto a discussion about Filipinos.

Kam: Do any of you hang around Filipinos or have any Filipino friends?

Princess Model: (jumping for joy) Me, me, me. I grew up with Filipino maids!!! I had one maid who's name is Virgy, not virgin not vegy. It is V-I-R-G-Y....

At this point, everyone on the table was crying with laughter. Princess Model didnt think it was funny, but Ribena, Ball Breaker and myself couldnt stop crying. How the conversation lead onto Princess Model's Filipino maid, I have no idea. How the conversation lead onto the maid's name is an even bigger mystery. But it was all too funny and if I was at home, I would've been rolling on the floor. Anyway, the drinking continued even after we had settled the bill for dinner. Kam and Ribena had more Sambuca shots, Ball Breaker, Princess Model and myself had liquer coffees. Then we ordered Grandfather Ports. Oh My God! And all we wanted to do that night was have after work drinks, dinner then go home to bed. We finally left the restaurant when the owner came to kick us out just before midnight. All the alcohol we consumed after dinner was on the house. Nice.

Ribena, Kam and myself ended up at Players on Lygon, which is a pretty classy looking Pokies place. Well, it had a bar and that's all that mattered. The two of them continued their binge and surprisingly got along really well, which is great. Now Ribena has an NBF too!!! Odie was calling me all night trying to find out when I was gonna bring Ribena back. Then she called to ask if we could get her bubble tea from China Bar on the way back to the hotel. Then we got calls from JT and Mama J who insisted we go back to the hotel and drink with them. Ribena wasnt keen on that idea, neither was I. Mama J and JT have been annoying poor Ribena all week. Ribena just wanted to get out of the tiny serviced apartment away from all of them. Our night didnt end there. When we finally decided to leave the pokies, we drove past China Bar in search of this bubble tea concoction for Odie, but it was closed! Odie was so not happy with us cos we thought since we had no reason to go back to the hotel, then we should head somewhere else. Someone mentioned wanting to eat and on a Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning, nothing in the city was open, not even McDonalds. So we headed to Crown Casino. Had a snack and was gonna call it a night when we discovered that Odeon was still open. At 3 in the morning, we went up to Odeon and continued partying. The music was not too bad, a mix of commercial R & B and house. Ribena was still doing Jaeger Bombs at 3 in the morning. Salute to her. I was ready to pass out, not from alcohol consumption, from exhaustion! Odie was furious with the three of us. She rang me and started screaming at me for going out and not getting her bubble tea. She was furious Ribena didnt go back to the refuge camp (the apartment). We did eventually go back to the apartment and believe me, the three of us had four furious faces glaring at us. Kam and I made a run for it the minute we had an opportunity. We left poor Ribena alone to face the music.

No! The conversation actually went like this...

PM: Where are you originally from?
    KAM: Singapore.
    PM: Are you Malay?
    BB: He's half Filipino.
PM: You don't sound like Filipino...
KAM: Do you hang around Filipinos or have Filipino friends?
PM: Yeah!!! I grew up with Filipino maids... yadda yadda yadda

And the rest was apparently funny. What so funny??!!

  3. It was funny only because you, Puteri and Ball Breaker were laughing, did you see KAM and I laugh before you girls did? It wasn't suppose to be funny, we were having a serious conversation!!!
