The First Date

While I was falling asleep on someone's couch, a good friend of mine was busy on her very first date. Not very first date with the guy, very first date in her entire life! He took her to a nice Korean restaurant, she got all dolled up looking hot, hot, hot. Well, one must always leave a lasting first impression and no matter what you think, books are always judged by their cover. She makes a late entrance into the restaurant, as you do on a first date. All goes well, until he tells her what he does for a living. So, the both of us had spent a day pondering over what this guy does. She researched the company he works at and our conclusion was he's an IT geek. But on the night of the date, she discovers that he's infact a warehouse supervisor (in an IT company perhaps?). The eyes started to roll, the interest was no longer there and the mind started to leave the body. His part of the conversation pretty much centred around rocks. Yes, you read right, rocks. This guy has a fascination for rocks. Maybe he was just nervous and the only thing he was confident about was rocks. Bloody rocks. And the more she looked at him, the more he started to look like HYC. Not that HYC is ugly by any means, just the thought of dating HYC was weird.

I take it the meal was delicious, but not wanting to look rude, my poor friend ate very delicately, not to mention very slowly. By the time the guy was done with his meal, she wasnt even half way done filling her own stomach. And what does she do next? She stops eating as well to save herself from looking like a pig.

The funniest part of the date was leaving hungry. How she could defy her own principles and put herself in this position is questionable. She, of all people found the need to be someone else on the date. Now that's funny. Sorry babe, I wont encourage you to go on anymore dates in future. You should just stick to what you do best *wink*.

Objection! Ball Breaker should keep going on dates, it was just bad luck. Once she gets in the groove, she'll love it. Dating is all fun, fun and more fun! I can't believe she had just had her first one after her entire life, how much fun has she been missing?
